Determining the bending coordinates
Three-dimensional mandrel bending is intimately connected with the question of bending coordinates.

These coordinates are transferred to the processor which calculates a software supported simulation of the bending.

This simulation shows if a collision with the bending machine is to be expected. In this case an adjustment of the bending coordinates or inversion of the bending direction can help. Always after consulting the client of course.

After the simulation and before the actual production we determine the resilience and the stretching of the material. For this we need some extra material from the same production line.

After all corrections, all changed parameters are calculated into a new bending profile.

How to determine the bending coordinates

In all straight parts of an isometric drawing centre lines are drawn beyond the bending. Intersections occur. These intersections, the starting point and endpoint are specified in the X, Y, Z coordinates.

To check the feasibility of the product we also need the following specifications: diameter, wall thickness, radius and quality of material.
